Events July to December

BROXBOUNE RIVER TRIP, AND WALTHAM ABBEY.

18th August 2015

22 Members including friends,  had a pleasant Day Trip by Coach to the Country side of Broxbourne.  We all had a lovely river trip, on the River Lee., and had an excellent ploughmans lunch as we cruised along.

In the afternoon we spent an interesting tour of the Waltham Abbey, before leaving for home,

the weather was drizzle in the morning, but brightened up in the afternoon.

Ely Branch.

3rd September 2015.

We welcomed Ely Branch Members. wives and friends, to our venue for the day,

Starting with a nice buffet, chat,  and a pint or two, then it  was time to leave ,and visit 

"The Living Memorial " at Retterdon .

Unfortunately it started to rain heavily , so we wasn't able to see all of the Gardens,

Refreshments  were in the  The Living Memorial Cafe'  which we all enjoyed very much, we  then said our farewells. Hope to make this on a more regular basis.

Houses of Parliament and Fly Emirates Experience

14th September 2015

Early Morning Coach of 16 members and Guests traveled to The Houses of Parliament for a guided tour, which was very interesting. We left there after having lunch in the restaurant. Then onto Greenwich for a  return trip  across the Thames by ' cable-car ' Although the weather  was gale force winds,  we all thoroughly enjoyed it .

Left for home at 6pm.

REMEMBRANCE Service . Southend

Sunday 8th November 2015

Veterans, youth organizations, and servicemen joined a parade starting a Prittlewell Square, Which march to the cenotaph.

The Service began at 11am mirroring the National Commemoration attended by the Queen in Whitehall,

The chimes of Big Ben were heard at 11oclock, followed by two-minute silence . 

after the Service we had a welcome Buffet, at the Naval & Military Club

Weather :- Cloudy with cold breeze .

Veterans, Servicemen, and Standard Bearers will pay tribute to the brave Servicemen, and Women who gave there supreme sacrifice for their Country
